Detailed description of Spring Valley Golf Course

Spring Valley Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located two hours from Des Moines in Livermore, Iowa.

Spring Valley Golf Course opened in 1979 as a 9-hole course. The course was designed by Bob Patruka. The course was expanded to 18 holes in 1990 by the Gerald Berte family who had purchased the course in 1981.

Water hazards (ponds and a creek) come into play on a number of holes. From the tips the course plays to apar-72 and measures 6,421 yards. The course ratingis 70.2 with and a 117 slope rating. Spring Valley is well landscaped, with flower beds throughout the course. Over 10,000 annuals are planted each year. The rough on the course is not overly long, but large trees line nearly all of the fairways. Hole #1 is the #1 handicap, a 441-yard par four.

Spring Valley Golf Course is a family owned and operated course. The course is more tended to than simply maintained. The course shows pride of ownership.

This course is beautiful. There are huge flower beds everywhere and they are meticulously cared for. This is hands down the nicest course I've ever played. What a gem!

Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Ranks with the best in this price level, Best course in the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

A top notch course in the middle of nowhere. This course is worth the drive. Always in outstanding shape. Very scenic. Fun to play. Highly recommended.
